Billing FAQ's
Following are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about billing:

The address where I am asked to send payments is a post office box in Cleveland. Why is that?
We utilize a "lockbox", which is essentially a post office box at the bank. All payments are received through this box. It is simply a safer way to assure that your payment is handled appropriately.

I was seen for a fracture and/or an injection but did not have surgery. Why does my billing statement show that my visit was billed as a surgery?
The codes for these procedures happens to be listed as a “surgery” code in the standard billing code, or CPT, information, which is published by the American Medical Association. Therefore, although you did not have surgery, a “surgery” code may appear on your statement.

I have an orthopaedic injury resulting from a car accident. Will you bill my car insurance company directly?
We will bill your automobile insurance for your claim, but you must provide us with certain information. Please click here to view our policy.

I received an orthopaedic injury while at work. Can I file this claim under Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC)?
We do accept active worker's comp claims. When visiting our office, please bring all available Managed Care Organization (MCO) information.

We typically DO NOT accept worker's comp claims that are more than a month old. If you have been treated by another orthopaedic specialist for this condition and have been referred to our office by he/she, you must have an approved C-9 through the Bureau of Worker's Compensation before your first appointment with our office. Click here for more information on our BWC Policy.

I am having trouble paying a bill from a past visit. Do you have programs to help me do so?
We do offer relief to those that can demonstrate that they are financially unable to pay their bills. This is based upon a sliding-scale formula, and is tied to your income. Please contact our billing department (at the numbers listed above) to inquire about this program.
